Frequently Asked Questions
What types of appraisal and inspection services do you provide?
A to Z Appraisal Services handles automotive, motorcycle, watercraft, heavy equipment, RV, diminished value, appraisal clause, post-repair, glass inspection, and vehicle valuation assignments. We also provide valuations for specialty vehicles and equipment.
Do you travel to the vehicle or equipment location?
Yes. Depending on the assignment, our appraiser can travel to a residence, workplace, repair facility, storage location, marina, equipment yard, or another agreed-upon location to complete the inspection.
What is included in a damage inspection?
A typical inspection may include detailed photographs, measurements, written notes, identification of visible damage, parts research, and a repair estimate. The exact scope depends on the type of vehicle, equipment, and claim.
What estimating and valuation systems do you use?
We use recognized industry tools such as CCC ONE and Mitchell when preparing repair estimates and actual cash value evaluations. We may also use local comparable vehicles, auction results, vehicle history information, and market data when appropriate.
What is a diminished value appraisal?
A diminished value appraisal evaluates how much market value a vehicle may have lost after being involved in a collision, even after the repairs have been completed. The report may include vehicle history information, valuation data, auction results, repair documentation, and comparable accident-involved vehicles.
Can you help if I disagree with my insurance company’s valuation?
Yes. We can review the insurance company’s actual cash value report, examine the comparable vehicles used, and identify adjustments that may be needed for mileage, condition, options, features, or local market differences. This information may be used during the appraisal clause or valuation dispute process.
What is a post-repair inspection?
A post-repair inspection is an independent review of repairs completed after a collision. We inspect and photograph visible repair areas to help identify incomplete work, remaining damage, alignment concerns, paint or finish issues, and other workmanship concerns.
How long does it take to receive a completed report?
Turnaround time depends on the type of assignment, inspection location, vehicle or equipment involved, parts availability, and the amount of research required. A to Z Appraisal Services is committed to completing assignments efficiently while maintaining accurate and well-supported documentation.
